‘Digital Making as Research’ has been a core aspect of the ‘3D Prototyping’ module that I’ve been enrolled at during my postgraduate studies in Edinburgh. During my participation in this course I undertook a number of practice-based exploratory design projects, learning to use making and prototyping as a research method in my work. I particularly explored CAD software and 3D printing through the usage of complex shapes as well as different filaments and materials.
